The dates for John Mayer’s summer tour schedule will be officially released tomorrow, but I have them on our Tour Dates page for you now! Colbie Caillat and Brett Dennen will be the opening acts.
Here’s something else you should know (via Billboard.com):
Also this summer, a new CD/DVD & Blu-Ray package from Mayer will hit stores, featuring a December 2007 show at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre. The as-yet-untitled project includes an acoustic performance, a full-band set and Mayer’s performance with his Trio, featuring Steve Jordan and Pino Palladino.
In other news…
– About the whole Perez Hilton kissing rumor. That has got to be the most insane lie if there ever was one. Why would he pick the one person in the world with the biggest mouth (and the most to gain) to kiss? Our Johnny is way smarter than that.
Fall Out Boy released their cover of the Michael Jackson song “Beat It.” John Mayer is featured on the track. You can check it out (and buy it) at iTunes or from Amazon.com.
If you’re looking for John’s single “Say” — the song that was written for the movie “The Bucket List” — you can also get it on iTunes or from Amazon.com.
Dude, where have I been? John Mayer has been talking smack about an ex, looking for a wife and poppin’ Xanax. Well, that is if you let the gossip rags tell it.
I find it sincerely annoying that the guy writes a post in his blog that he LABELED as being fodder for lyrics — there are no hidden messages — and everybody’s freaking out saying he MUST be specifically talking about someone he’s dated.
I loved John’s follow-up post in which he explains his reasoning in detail. I got it, did you get it? If John is reading this and I have no idea if he has any idea this site exists, but if you’re reading this John, thank you for this sentence you wrote: “Can I write a song because of somebody but not about them?”
I think it would be really sad if you couldn’t. It seems like everybody has to figure everything out, there has to be some concrete reason for everything. Well there doesn’t and I really, really wish the tabs and the celebstalkers would chill the F out for a second and stop analyzing everything to death. They’re like pre-teen girls that just got back from the movies where they saw their crush and he happened to glance in their direction, not because he saw them but because he’s looking at the movie poster behind their head, and they’re wondering what it all meant.
According to Cosmopolitan magazine that is. John has been chosen as Cosmo’s Fun Fearless Male of the Year. He and the other dudes on the list — Chris Brown, Zac Efron, and John Krasinski to name a few — will be honored at the awards luncheon on March 3rd in New York. Carmen Electra is set to host.
