John Mayer’s latest live effort “Where The Light Is: John Mayer Live in Los Angeles” was released today. The DVD features 22 songs separated into three different sets: acoustic, The John Mayer Trio and John’s full band.

In addition to the DVD there’s also a CD available of the live concert. I’m most excited about getting a clear copy of the song “In Your Atmosphere.” Up until now I’d only had a copy of a recording from one of his club shows taped a looong time ago.

the grammy letdown

OK…

Was it just me or was that “performance” just kinda lame? I know that overall it was good for what it was, Alicia Keys is amazing, but I wanted more Mayer! One dinky guitar solo is not enough. They shoulda performed “Lessons Learned” from Alicia’s latest CD. That woulda been fifty times better than what we got. And to make matters just a little bit worse John lost out to Justin Timberlake in the best male pop vocal category.

But that’s ok because John made himself even more endearing when he shot down Paris Hilton’s advances at a Grammy after party. Suhweet!

Ya gotta check out this blog post from PopSugar, they do a quick recap of an interview John did with Best Life Magazine. If only I could find a dude that this thoughtful with his words.

While I am tempted to make mention of the latest “John Mayer’s Dating Who??” rumors I will not, because I realize it’s really pointless. The next time I write about who he’s dating it’ll be to tell you that he got someone preggers, is engaged or is already married.

In other more relevant and cool John Mayer news, he has been nominated for another best male pop vocal Grammy for the song “Belief”. The awards will be given out on February 10th, 2008 and will be shown on CBS.
