mayer makes the details power 40 list

John has been included in DETAILS magazine’s Power 40 list, ranking the 40 most influential men under 40. John comes in at number 11 on the list. The issue goes on sale tomorrow (December 2) and features Tom Cruise on the cover.

I highly reccommend DETAILS in general. I know it’s a magazine for dudes, and I’m a girl, but I think it’s always good to know what the other side is reading. Plus they do have great articles, features and photos.

According to Cosmopolitan magazine that is. John has been chosen as Cosmo’s Fun Fearless Male of the Year. He and the other dudes on the list — Chris Brown, Zac Efron, and John Krasinski to name a few — will be honored at the awards luncheon on March 3rd in New York. Carmen Electra is set to host.

the grammy letdown

OK…

Was it just me or was that “performance” just kinda lame? I know that overall it was good for what it was, Alicia Keys is amazing, but I wanted more Mayer! One dinky guitar solo is not enough. They shoulda performed “Lessons Learned” from Alicia’s latest CD. That woulda been fifty times better than what we got. And to make matters just a little bit worse John lost out to Justin Timberlake in the best male pop vocal category.

But that’s ok because John made himself even more endearing when he shot down Paris Hilton’s advances at a Grammy after party. Suhweet!

Ya gotta check out this blog post from PopSugar, they do a quick recap of an interview John did with Best Life Magazine. If only I could find a dude that this thoughtful with his words.

mayer to perform at this weekend’s grammys

John Mayer will be performing at this year’s Grammy awards ceremony. He’s also been nominated for one award. Between seeing him, Amy Winehouse and Kanye West this is going to be one great show.

The show is on Sunday night at 8pm on CBS.

oscar buzz for mayer’s ‘say’

Really? Yea, well that’s what one blogger is saying at least. John’s song for the movie “The Bucket List”, which opens this Friday, is called “Say.” Earlier I posted a link to the music video on iTunes.

At any rate I hope he does get an Oscar nomination for the song, it’s good music with a great message — even if you’re not terminally ill.

Also… In my perusing of the internets I found this short video interview with John on the red carpet at “The Bucket List” movie premiere.

While I am tempted to make mention of the latest “John Mayer’s Dating Who??” rumors I will not, because I realize it’s really pointless. The next time I write about who he’s dating it’ll be to tell you that he got someone preggers, is engaged or is already married.

In other more relevant and cool John Mayer news, he has been nominated for another best male pop vocal Grammy for the song “Belief”. The awards will be given out on February 10th, 2008 and will be shown on CBS.
