I was 19 (7 yrs ago). It was 2003 and he was playing along w/many other artists at an outdoor festival in Cincy, Ohio. I was a HUGE fan and was singing along to every song he played! Afterwards my 3 friends and I decided to go down the alleys around the stage and try to find his tour bus. WE FOUND IT! At this point, there were only about 10 or so other people who had the same idea as us. We waited a little while and then he came out! He started jogging around the bus, stretching and being silly. He grabbed someone’s cell phone and started talking to whoever they were talking to! We were all lined up waiting for his autograph. There was (unfortunately!) a chainlink fence between us and him. Then one of the greatest things ever happened! He got to about 2 people ahead of me, signing away not really talking to anyone..and stopped and looked down at me. Did a double take and then said “hey!” (as in a joey lawrence “how you doin?!”) to ME! I looked at my best
friend and smiled and she and everyone else was in shock! HAHA! THEN, he got to me! I put my ticket out for him to sign and started rambling..”i love you!” i said. “i loved the show”. He said “oh yeah? well do you want to have sex with me?” I was literally shocked!! Everyone in line was staring at me! I think i said “yes” emberassingly. Too bad for the damn fence being in the way!! HAHA! Then I don’t remember much after that. He signed my other friends tickets and he was gone! That’s it! That’s my John Mayer story. Too bad I don’t have another one to share..maybe one day! Maybe I’ll get to follow through with the previous request.

Yes…….I met him too……It was in Grand Rapids last year after his concert at Van Andel Arena. I was in the front row and just before the final encore ended, some guy from his entourage said that John wanted me to come to his after glow party.

I could hardly breathe. Of course I will! Thanks for the invite, I said.

So, off to the Amway Grand Plaza I go.

I am immediately greeted by that same guy who takes me to the top of the plaza and to a conference room type setting with a Culver’s Custard Style Ice Cream Sundae Bar and Beer (not Milwaukee’s Best-thank God) Oh gosh, 2 of my fav’s.

So, as I was helping myself to Culver’s Custard Style Ice Cream Sundae Bar(there was a whole sundae bar with all the toppings) and creating a marvelous cookie dough sundae with whip cream….I feel something behind me……a hug from behind and a breath on my and a couple little kisses all over my neck……I turn around and who do you think it was? That’s right girls…….John Mayer.

He took me by the hand and led me to a very private room and there by the couch, was a beautiful guitar. He said, “Sit here and don’t move.” He sat in front of me on the foot stool and grabbed his guitar. He said,” I read your myspace profile and one of your dreams you listed…….I’m going to make it all come true tonite…..”

So, he grabbed my sundae……pushed me back on to the couch and demanded I do exactly what he tells me to do……..Oh how I love it when the man takes charge.

He said,”Look at me”…….I looked……and he began to play “In Repair” (the bluesy rendition)…and magically, another hand appeared….he started feeding me Culver’s Custard Style Ice Cream while he played……2 hands but 3 things going on…….mmmmmmmm……multitasking at its finest…..uh huh girls…..that’s right….you know where I’m going with this….that’s nothing short of a miracle. It’s like Jesus raising from the dead…..Go on with your bad self Mayer…..Then he’d throw a little sentence in here and there-you know the ones….”Do you know how much I love you….I cannot live without you….much like you cannot live without Culver’s Custard Style Ice Cream..you must be with me…..forever”. I decided that it was the right thing to do…….to be with him forever. It was definitely a tough decision….but one I made with confidence. I moved to New York or California (wherever he lives) and we lived happily ever after.

I met John backstage in Richmond VA during the Heavier Things tour, won a “Back to You” ticket contest. He was super nice, especially to a young girl with 2 broken arms who wanted him to sign her casts, he knelt down and spoke to her like you would an adored neice. He was great about taking photos with us all and it was a quick, wonderful but memorable visit for this old lady fan…

yes i have met john mayer. he’s amazing in person. such a sweetie and omg such a freaking hottie. and i’ll be hanging out with him on dec.8 here in L.A. every time i see him,he calls me a hottie. =) i love him!!!!
